Actually, you do get some indication beforehand, as your gas cylinder bottle gets lighter with the more gas used. You should avoid moving the cylinder bottle to hear the liquid gas moving around inside. Gas leak may cause fires or explosions.
An alternative way to check is using a digital scale. Disconnect the bottle and place it on the scale, making sure the valve is firmly closed. The difference between the scales reading and the TARE weight should indicate approximately how much gas is remaining in the gas container.
Also, a device in form of a regulator for domestic LPG cylinders is now available in local market. This regulator comes with gauge or INDICATOR. It helps you know the level or amount of LPG remaining in the gas cylinder bottle
