How To Fix Gas Regulator No Gas Flow And Low Supply?

Why is it that even after turning "ON" the gas regulator control knob to high position, the supply of gas to the appliance being fuelled is very low, or not supplying gas at all?

When the knob is turned on, for gas regulators, the pin inside goes down and releases the gas to the appliance being fuelled. Most gas regulators, especially the one used for single stove burner & valve, uses a different approach to adjust the temperature or pressure to the gas stove. This will prompt the release of gas to the appliance attached to it.

A gas regulator is needed by your appliance to function. LPG need to be controlled, to ensure a steady supply of LPG gas to the appliance being fuelled. Unfortunately, there is no fixed lifespan for LPG gas regulators. Sometimes, they can continue to give good service, and sometimes, they don't. Some developed mechanical trouble such as getting stuck while turning on and off. For gas regulators, you need to install a new one, as they can not be repaired.

The pin inside the gas regulator is responsible for the release of LPG gas. So, the gas regulator knob and pin are operated by simple gear method, which in a period of time, the teeth of the gear decrease due to continuous usage. However, if the issue still persist even after changing the gas regulator to a new one, consider checking your hose pipe. It is also a known fact that the length of a hose pipe greatly affect the flow of gas.

However, if what you use for cooking at home is the single gas stove cylinder, the one that uses the burner & valve, there is a possibility of getting it repaired. Valve on the gas cylinder allows the gas to pass through the burner to the stove. In most times, the valve can become weak and then loosen up so freely that it doesn't function as needed. When this occurs, the flow of gas becomes slow, low or not controlled, which limits the give out pressure to suit the appliance being fuelled. For this repair, you will need to tighten the loosen knob of the valve with a white sealing tape

Lastly, the presence of moisture within the burner & valve could cause rusting and blockage, which could obstruct the flow of gas to the appliance being fuelled. In situation as this, it is either you change the gas regulator to a brand new one or clean the surface of dirt and debris.
