LPG Fire Preventions: How Will A Gas Cylinder Bottle Explode?

1 a. When the gas cylinder bottle is placed vertically upright, the flame burning at the top of the gas cylinder will not cause much impact on the bottle body.

1 b. When the gas bottle is put down in a horizontal position, the flame burning at the top of the gas cylinder bottle rush to the ground and spread to the bottle body to be heated unevenly and causing an explosion.

2. In a case of FLAMES on the gas cylinder, when the valve of the LPG gas cylinder is in good condition, the first is to close the valve, cover the valve with a wet towel, turn the valve by hand to close, and the fire will be put out after the valve is closed.

3. If the valve of the gas cylinder on fire is damaged, it is not necessary to put out the fire. First, carry the gas cylinder bottle to an open area and stand, then cool the gas cylinder with water and wait for the LPG gas to burn. 

4. Best option is to use a portable fire extinguisher if flames persist.

5. If the burning LPG gas cylinder bottle cannot be transferred at home, please take away any flammable materials around the gas cylinder immediately. Call the fire department at once, wait for the fire fighters to arrive at the scene. Do not allow gas cylinder bottle fall to the ground.
