How To Cut off Gas Supply From The LPG Regulator And Gas Stove At Home

Low pressure regulators, also known as the Quick-On+ is a domestic regulator used for supplying gas to utilities at specific pressure and flow. This type of regulators are mainly domestic used at home. The Quick-On+ versions featuring a release valve, are not type-approved for use in closed premises (see local laws on the subject).

The Quick-On+ low pressure regulators operating in temperature range from 0/+50°c for Butane and -20/+50°c for propane and LPG. The regulator cannot be used on motor homes and caravans.

To cut off gas supply from a LPG gas regulator, make sure the connecting hose pipe is correctly fitted to the consuming appliance. Most Quick-On+ low pressure regulators have indicators for "ON" and "OFF". Never try to attach or remove the regulator from the cylinder valve unless the handle is in "OFF" position. Turn "OFF" the gas flow by turning the knob a clockwise half turn until the stop and reaches the opposite horizontal "OFF" position. In "OFF" position they valve is closed. No gas is flowing.

If you are unable to turn the regulator to "OFF" position, do not force the handle. Check if the type of regulator comes with a press botton. If the knob get stuck and not in complete horizontal position and marking "OFF" is not visible. Please contact your gas supplier.

Most Quick-On+ low pressure regulators are equipped with a safety device "excess flow valve" designed to stop gas escaping in case of accidental detachment or breakage of the rubber hose used to supply to the appliance. The marking "EFV" on the label, shows the presence of this device on the Quick-On+.

In case of the flow of gas being higher than the capacity of the regulator, contact your gas supplier. Maximum residential flow; 60g/h

NOTE: The excess flow valve may close if the gas cylinder is moved during use.
