* On the tank should be in the valve spot or on the side. Just depends what car.

Factory gas has a plate under the bonnet too that has the stamp date.
Plate date is the date of installation and can be different to the actual tank date! That can be problematical ,say at a vehicle inspection. If the tank is/ or could be a couple of years older! I have seen fleet vehicles have in date tanks swapped for out of date tanks to cut cost of servicing. They are getting rid of the car, they have one due for service so they take out the good tank and swap it for the one needing a service or replacement and then get rid of the car and the new owner wears it.
