Quick Fix: Simple Hack To Fix Gas Regulator Low Pressure Flow

Does your gas don't give much pressure? What could be the problem?

First, you have to check the type of valve if it is compatible. It could be from the cylinder valve.

How To Solve LPG Gas That Doesn't Give Much Pressure From Gas Cylinder At Home?

There are different types of valve:

* Util valve (the widest valve mainly for 50kg cylinders).

* Standard valve (is the common one for  12.5 kg).

* Needle /pin valve (is not as wide as Util valve but they are both mainly used for 50kg and bigger cylinders).

* While camping valve are mainly use for cylinders with burner on top.

Secondly, know what type of gas is being refilled. Is it normal gaseous gas. We have propane gas and butane gas. Which one serves better? Butane is better in Nigeria. But it is normally propane and butane mixture. The butane content or unsaturated hydrocarbons may be too high.

Thirdly, what type of your regulator is being used? The high pressure regulator or the low pressure regulator. Note that the low pressure gas regulator is mainly used for domestic usage, and does gives low pressure gas compared to high pressure gas regulator. Check user manual for instructions, or seek the help of a professional technician.

Another option to consider is checking if the gas cylinder is not overfilled, which can cause leakages, and can lead to fire or explosions. Vent the gas cylinder. Try purge out some of the gas/vapor.

Your gas regulator and valve may have been rust inside. Open the gas regulator, clean it nicely. And when it is ready for use again, open it a little so more rust will not make it block again. If it is from a faulty gas regulator, don’t stress yourself. Change the gas regulator.

But, it is best you take it to any gas technician. It might be blockage the valve or the gas regulator has failed.
