Gas cylinders are solid or hollow figure with round ends and long straight sides. Cooking gas cylinders are typically steel or aluminum vessels for storing the common LPG gases - Butane and Propane. Cooking gas cylinder bottle sizes are contingent upon the usage, the requisite volume of gas and the location of the gas cylinder installations. LPG cylinders are manufactured for Propane use, but can be easily used for others.
A modern BBQ gas bottle runs on Propane gas. Both Propane and Butane are sold as gas for a BBQ. Recently, with introduction of innovative technology, cooking gas cylinders are now made from stainless steel, composite, transparent materials - which is why recent version of gas cylinder bottles are less heavier than older versions. The SuperGas 47kg Propane bottle is made from ALUMINIA - FORTICAL. Aluminium is a light, silver-grey metal used for making pan e.t.c. Other gas cylinder brands such as CEPSA BUTANE are made as stainless steel, while Calor gas has the CalorLite Propane bottle with the same screw connections as standard Propane cylinder, but a reduced cylinder weight.
LPG bottling plant has its in-built stringent safety and quality system control at different stages. The quality control checks at LPG bottling plant are carried out in three (3) stages:
1. Pre-filling quality checks,
2. Post-filling quality checks,
3. Statistical quality control checks.
The LPG gas cylinder bodies are tested by water pressure and air leak testing. Then they pass through anticipation bending plate machine controlled by hydraulic pressure computer. Thickness of bending plate is 40mm. All welding line are checked by 100 percent "X" photoelectricity and aultranson. One cylinder in every batch of new cylinders is tested for burst pressure. The pressure at which the cylinder bursts is 85 - 90kg/cm2.
After all testing and quality control test, gas cylinders are then spray through the anti-rust button painting. Then the brand logo is added, along with the gas cylinder bottle technical information.
