DIY: How To Fix Faulty Gas Stove Burner Vents

Burner on the gas stove or gas cooker acts as a furnace where LPG is burnt. This is the part of cooker/stove that produces flame. The burner has an opening that allows air, gas to pass out to the utilities being fuelled. However, most times, these vents (ventilated holes) are blocked by dirt or dust. They clog up the narrow opening, blocking gas from passing out. When the burner vents are being blocked by dirt and dust, the regulator that helps pump the gas out by sending out to the appliance becomes clogged up also.

To fix a faulty burner vents, you will need to clean the burner surface of dirt and dust. You can use a sewing needle to open up the vent holes, and wipe it clean. Then, blow them out with air or hand dryer, if possible. The burner valve allows enough ventilated space, which also allows smooth passage of gas to the utilities being supplied. Or better still, call the gas service repairman for replacement.
